The Bomgaars Expo Center is planned to be built on the former John Morrell site in Sioux City and will bring the heritage of commerce in the historic stockyards to life in a modern expo venue.

The new multi-purpose facility is designed to enhance the overall tourism appeal of the region by attracting ag-related events and activities, adding new recreational opportunities, providing unique spaces for large community events, and creating opportunities for agricultural learning experiences.

This Project Will Achieve Four Goals

Equestrian & Agricultural Venue

Features a 45,000 square-foot main arena with approximately

2,000 seats, a warm-up arena and additional exhibit space.

Recreational Opportunities

Creates large flexible spaces for indoor sports and recreational activities, including indoor turf in the main arena and sport courts in the exhibit area.

Trade Shows & Community Events

The design and size of the new facility will be ideal to host and grow larger events that will benefit from an open flexible venue with excellent accessibility and parking.

Educational Programming

Through a partnership with Western Iowa Tech Community College, the facility will provide ideal space for a combination of classroom instruction and "hands-on" agricultural learning experiences.
